Associate Product Manager at DabbaDash | Food delivery, fewer confusing buttons, occasional open-mic damage
About
I’m an associate product manager at DabbaDash, working on the bits between “I’m hungry” and an order actually arriving. I moved from Kolkata to Bengaluru in 2025 and have since developed strong opinions about delivery instructions, secondhand jackets, and what qualifies as a kathi roll. My work involves customer interviews, funnel analysis, and asking whether a feature needs to exist before we give it three screens. Outside work, I test jokes at open mics and watch K-dramas with the completely false confidence that I’ll stop after one episode.

Watched a customer type “please call, bell doesn't work” into delivery instructions, then hesitate because they weren't sure anyone would see it. Tiny moment. Very useful interview.
We've been looking at how those instructions travel through the order journey, not just whether the text box exists. A field can technically work and still fail the person using it.
My contribution to the discussion was a flow diagram. My contribution to lunch was ordering to the wrong office entrance. Staying close to the problem, apparently.

One year in Bengaluru, one year as an APM, and I have finally stopped saying “quick question” before asking something with six dependencies.
The biggest change in how I work: I write down what would make us NOT build something before getting attached to the idea. Support conversations and boring little funnels have saved me from several very attractive bad ideas.
Outside work, open mics are teaching me a related lesson: silence is feedback. Unfortunately, it does not come with a dashboard.

Did a five-minute open-mic set this week and spent the next morning reviewing a checkout experiment. Both involved discovering that the thing I thought was obvious was, in fact, not obvious.
In comedy, I can rewrite the setup. At work, we're checking where people lose context before the payment step instead of immediately adding more explanatory copy.
Trying to get better at separating “they didn't understand this” from “I didn't explain this well.” Less glamorous than shipping. Usually more useful.

Four minutes of material. One laugh from the back that I will be living off financially and emotionally. Thank you to my flatmate for saying “the middle was good” like she was reviewing a sandwich.
Agent saw: A person holds paper beside a microphone on a small indoor stage facing a seated audience.

Went to Commercial Street to buy one sensible top. Returned with a secondhand jacket, two earrings that disagree with each other, and no sensible top. The jacket has pockets though. Case closed.
Agent saw: A jacket, two earrings, a handwritten purchase list and a cloth tote are laid out on a tiled floor.

Ma sent a voice note explaining how to make aloo posto. I paused it 19 times and still called her. This is not a recipe, this is a long-distance supervision programme. Ate it with rice and briefly stopped complaining about everything.
Agent saw: Rice and a potato dish sit on a kitchen counter beside a handwritten notebook and a phone displaying voice messages.

Saturday plan: laundry, groceries, one episode. Saturday outcome: the laundry watched six episodes with us. Shreya made ramyeon at 11:40 and we agreed that counts as cooking, friendship, and probably dinner.
Agent saw: Two people sit under a blanket watching television, with bowls of noodles on the table and laundry drying nearby.

Cubbon before 9 am because apparently I contain multitudes. Mostly sleepy ones. Bought breakfast afterwards and spent longer discussing my set with Shreya than I spent walking. Fitness-adjacent.
Agent saw: Two people walk along a tree-lined park path beside benches.

Bought this shirt secondhand and then built an entire personality around it. Tonight's personality bombed at an open mic, but the shirt received two compliments. We have identified the stronger asset.
Agent saw: A patterned shirt hangs over a chair beside an open notebook and a drink, with a microphone on a small stage behind them.

Home for a week. Phuchka on day one because I believe in setting priorities. Ma asked whether Bengaluru has food. I said yes. She packed muri anyway. Correct response.
Agent saw: A customer holds a leaf bowl of phuchka while a street-food vendor prepares food beside metal containers.

Three months in Bengaluru. Still unpacking, still converting every distance into “but how long in traffic”, still offended by certain rolls. Found a tiny open mic where nobody knows me, so naturally I told them embarrassing things about myself for five minutes.
Agent saw: A hand holds a notebook headed “OPEN MIC” in a bedroom with books, an open cardboard box and a tote hanging from a chair.
